The world of Arush Votsmush is a space full of irony, humor, recognizable characters and their stories being created by color and water. Throughout his career the artist speaks and plays in his watercolor images guided by his own imagination.

The important elements of Arush Votsmush’s artistic technics are the creation of an image on the edge and in a combination of color fills of the paper surface and detailing, elaboration of the "film frame", theatricality of characters, "sharpness" and polysemy of textual accompaniment.
The works of Arush Votsmush are a collection of illustrations for many stories and plots, retold and reinterpreted by the author. The characters of the works - real and fictional - are the personages of these stories, their witnesses and participants.
Cinematography as a language and simultaneously a way of artistic thinking gives rise to frozen frames of stories and themes created in watercolor technique, unique moments, imagined and caught by the author.
The technique of creating is also "instantaneous" and "simultaneous", images emerge out of water and color, fixing a small fragment of a new story.
Every moment, every work has the name, sometimes ironic, sometimes intriguing, but always a part of the whole work and its meaning. The name is at the same time a kind of "decoder" of depicted and an introduction to the story, which continues to develop in a viewer’s mind.

Arush Votsmush (b. 1967) graduated from Crimean Art College in 1987 and studied at the Russian State University of Cinematography (VGIK), Animation course in 1989 – 1991). He lives and works in Crimea.

In 2016 he was awarded with the Silver Medal at Shenzhen International Watercolor Biennial (China).
In 1998 Arush Votsmush participated in Sotheby's auction - "Art Link" (Tel-Aviv) where all the exhibited works of the artist were sold.
The artworks of Arush Votsmush are in private collections all over the world.
Arush Votsmush is a member of International Arts Foundation and International Association of Artists (UNESCO).
His artistic activity outspreads also in the fields of music, cinema, poetry and literature.
Arush Votsmush is the author of illustrated books with stories. As a composer and singer, he has recorded several musical albums.
